Each year the Order of AHEPA and Daughters of Penelope sponsor various scholarships for graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students. Additionally, each year the AHEPA and Webster University offer the Journey to Greece program.

The AHEPA 232 Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce the Nick Smyrnis Memorial Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. This scholarship grants to the recipient $2,500 in financial aid toward their undergraduate studies. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2024.
The AHEPA-DOP District 12 Foundation provides opportunities to pursue higher education, to share cross-cultural experiences and promote philanthropic programs. The foundation encourages the development of civic responsibility and individual excellence, promotes and encourages American values of family, participatory democracy, and free enterprise.
The deadline for the returned application is Monday, April 1st, 2024. All applications and supporting documents must be sent by email to ahepa.dop12.scholarships@gmail.com by April 1, 2024.
Individuals applying for the scholarship awards are to complete the application form and carefully read all the instructions, rules, and eligibility requirements. Incomplete applications will be disqualified, so make sure all letters of recommendation, transcripts, and essays are submitted along with the application.
Scholarships will be awarded at a luncheon during the AHEPA-DOP District 12 Convention to be held this year. Recipients are highly encouraged to attend in-person to accept their awards. If the recipient cannot attend, a parent, grandparent, or family member must be present to accept the scholarship, else, it may be awarded to an alternate recipient.
A total of five scholarships at $2,000 each will be awarded in 2024 by the Foundation.
The AHEPA Educational Foundation (AEF) offers scholarship programs which are open from January 2nd to March 31st, which were established to promote, encourage, induce and advance education at the College, University and Graduate school level. Scholarship awards may range up to a max of $2,000.00, except where stipulated of a different amount and are payable to the student. Building on the solid foundation of the highly successful JTG programs that have been offered in every year since 2006, AHEPA & Webster University are once again offering an unforgettable learning experience for new and returning college age students. The Journey to Greece program is specially designed to immerse young students in a wonderful learning experience while celebrating the USA & Greek societies and cultures. Innovative study topics, exciting excursions and special arrangements make this trip especially attractive to students.

The Daughters of Penelope Zoe Cavalaris Outstanding Female Athlete Award, established by Past Grand President Zoe Lucas Cavalaris (1918-1985), honors a young woman of the Daughters of Penelope Family who has achieved as an amateur the highest athletic accomplishments in high school and/or undergraduate and graduate collegiate athletics; and has maintained a high sense of scholarship, community and civic achievement.
Important Information:
1) The award was conceived to honor a young woman of the Daughters of Penelope Family, meaning she must be a Maids of Athena member, a Daughters of Penelope member, or a daughter of a Daughters of Penelope member; any of whom must be an active member for at least two years prior to the date of application.
2) The recipient shall be a high school junior or senior female athlete recognized for her accomplishments during the past four (4) years of high school OR she may be a collegiate undergraduate or graduate female athlete recognized for her accomplishments during her past collegiate and high school years.
3) The award may consist of any or all of the following:
a. A scholarship check (amount to be determined)
b. An engraved plaque
c. Public recognition at the Awards Luncheon at the AHEPA Supreme Convention (lunch tickets included)
d. Hotel accommodations (2 nights) to the AHEPA Supreme Convention
e. Invitation to the AHEPA Athletic Award Reception the night before the luncheon
f. Publication of the recipient's name, biography, and accomplishments in all available AHEPA family publications including but not limited to the "Penelope's Scroll" Magazine and "AHEPAN" Magazine
4) This award may not be awarded more than once to the same person.
5) Evaluation and ranking of the applicants will be conducted by a group of judges no less than three (3) professionals in the world of athletics, who will be appointed by the Daughters of Penelope Athletic Chairman. The judges will use the grading format supplied by the Athletic Chairman.
6) Nominations must be made by or through any sponsoring Daughters of Penelope Chapter in good standing with national headquarters.
7) All applications must be computer printed (12pt font) on white paper.
8) All applications must be postmarked no later than April 15th to be considered. To ensure proper delivery, applications must be submitted “Return Receipt Requested” to Headquarters.
The Order of AHEPA has proudly awarded scholarships to a number of deserving Scholar-Athletes at the High School and College levels for a number of years. These scholarships are funded through the generosity of Brother AHEPANS and their families, often in honor of an active and committed Brother or in memory of a deceased Brother or family member, or through the efforts of the AHEPA Athletic Department. The awards recognize and reward the accomplishments, including academic, athletic, and community service, of the Hellenic Community’s future leaders! Each particular Scholarship recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of sports, and in some cases, the classroom and community service.
An applicant must be nominated by a member, in good standing, of the AHEPA family, by use of the attached 2024 Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Application Form.
